Registered Telemetry Unit Nurse | Van Wert, Ohio

Deliver advanced patient care as a Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in telemetry and renal care. This contract position offers an opportunity to utilize your nursing expertise in managing patients with multi-system organ failure or trauma in a dedicated 28-bed unit. The role requires strong assessment, planning, and coordination skills within an interdisciplinary team, focusing on telemetry monitoring and specialized treatments.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting thorough initial and ongoing patient assessments and formulating effective care plans.
• Administering medications safely, including managing drips such as Cardizem, Nitro, and Heparin.
• Interpreting telemetry data every 4 hours using EPIC.
• Collaborating with patient families, spiritual care, and palliative teams to support care decisions.
• Providing care for patients using advanced respiratory modalities like trachs, BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula.
• Supporting staff education and orientation, fostering evidence-based practices and quality improvement.

Qualifications and desired experience:

• Current RN license in Ohio or eligible under compact licensure.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; at least 6 months in acute care preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Dysrhythmia exam certification mandatory (study guide available).
• CAPD and telemetry experience strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EPIC) advantageous.
• Ability to manage critical care patients confidently with excellent clinical judgment.

Schedule:

• 12-hour evening shifts, every other weekend and every other holiday.
