Registered Telemetry Unit Nurse | Van Wert, Ohio

Deliver specialized nursing care for patients requiring medical-surgical, telemetry, and renal support in a 28-bed stepdown unit. This role demands skilled assessment and management of patients with complex needs, including multi-system organ failure and critical illness, while collaborating closely with the interdisciplinary care team. Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications safely, including drips such as Cardizem, Nitro, and Heparin.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry every four hours using electronic health record systems.
• Collaborate in coordinating patient care and serve as a patient safety advocate.
• Assist patients and families in coping with illness, promoting quality of life decisions.
• Manage advanced respiratory devices (trachs, BiPAP, CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula).
• Assume charge nurse duties as scheduled.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Current RN license, preferably with a Compact License if applicable.
• Minimum 2 years RN experience with specialized Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit expertise.
• BLS and ACLS certification required;
  Dysrhythmia Exam required (study guide provided).
• CAPD experience preferred.
• Comfortable managing multi-system organ failure and employing advanced clinical judgment.
• Experience with electronic health records (EPIC preferred).

Additional Details:

• 12-hour PM shifts, every other weekend and holiday schedule.
• Non-local candidates preferred; travel experience not mandatory.
• Contract position with potential for extension.
