Key Responsibilities of the Role

  • Reviews and processes policy quotes, issues, changes, renewals, Certificates of Insurance, Motor Vehicle Reports, and other transactions for Property, Inland Marine, Liability, Worker’s Compensation, and Auto Fleet risks.
  • Works with clients to deliver risk management strategies that fit their risk profiles
  • Upsells and cross-sells current customers, as well as selling warm leads to prospective customers
  • Recognizes, understands, and responds to the needs of our internal and external customers
  • Manages high level relationships with insured while maintaining account integrity and database accuracy
  • Provides proactive hospitality in all customer interactions, including phone calls and emails.
  • Maintains communication with clients to identify changing needs in services, property, or account information
  • Services incoming calls, emails and customer requests
  • Consults with prospective clients to discuss and understand their insurance needs.
  • Explains the insurance products available, the different coverage types, and the benefits of each plan.
  • Builds a positive relationship with the agencies you represent
  • Provides monthly reports to agency contacts via Soapbox video
  • Performs specialized tasks and projects, occasionally leads non-complex projects and project teams
  • Tests new products and processes as needed
  • Tracks insurance claims to ensure client and company satisfaction (ability to discuss claim situations with clients)
  • Identifies & implements process changes or improvements that lead to cost savings and/or efficiencies
  • Active involvement of training teammates on tasks as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Property & Casualty (P&C) Agency license within 60 days of employment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field and 2 years of collective insurance industry experience
  • Or 3 years of collective insurance industry experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in servicing commercial lines policies
  • Ability to rotate into extended phone coverage shift as assigned
  • Available for occasional overnight travel

  • Ability to build rapport with each customer, both internal and external, by actively listening and responding to their needs
  • Ability to investigate, gather facts and information, and analyze coverage

  • Ability to work under pressure, deal with interpersonal conflict, and handle a heavy workload

  • Ability to understand Central Insurance’s policies and processes
