The Pro Team Team Leader will be responsible for leading a team of various levels of Engineers, Technicians, Planners and Machine Operators. As the Pro Team Leader, you are responsible for Performance Evaluations, group measures, budget, setting work direction, exercising sound judgment, and approval of manufacturing and quoting procedures. Specifically, this position is responsible for the Pro Team day-to-day activities in the Van Wert, OH manufacturing plant.
WhatYou’ll Be Doing
- Lead the team according to the Pro Team strategic plan, including vision, mission and strategic metrics to drive behavior and results.
- Carry out strategic pricing/quoting plans by customer/application/product type to quote with efficiency and win targeted business.
- Maintain and continuously improve the content and use of standard work and playbooks for individuals and processes. Improve and maintain relationships with key sales team members and key customers.
- Lead with respect to budget in accordance with the profit and strategic plans of the Hydraulics FC Division and Van Wert Operations. Manage the daily activities of all department employees, including performance management, coaching, development, support, and follow-up for all assigned team members to ensure effective leadership.
- Implement, promote and maintain a safe working environment.
- Partner with support groups, including EHS, Engineering and Maintenance to ensure that adequate equipment is available and operated safely so as to conduct business efficiently.
- Evaluate all means and sources of information to assure manufacturability and cost effectiveness of all products produced through the Pro Team.
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all internal stakeholders including operations, customer service, purchasing and suppliers.
- Ensure team members are effectively trained and have access to the tools and resources to execute their job responsibilities adequately and efficiently.
- Develop, motivate and coach team members; act as an employee advocate.
- Fully engage workforce and drive change by empowering business partners with decision making and involvement and to act with a sense of urgency.
- Effectively administer shift start‑up meetings in area(s) of responsibility, including training, communication and engagement of assigned team members and effectively delivering required content. Coach employee behavior as necessary utilizing the Danfoss Leadership Model, Employee Handbook, peers and the HR team to ensure firm, fair, and consistent application of Danfoss’s policies and procedures.
- Maintain an organizational structure that supports the Pro Team Strategy as well as the Van Wert operational needs. Maintain close liaison with regional Application Engineering, Current Product Engineering and New Product Development teams to ensure strategies, goals and objectives are aligned.
- Complete AE activities as needed within Pro Team.
- A High School Diploma is required; a Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Detailed understanding of Finance and Accounting.
- Thorough technical knowledge of FC product lines, including product designs, test methods, end product use and the manufacturing methods and processes.
- An understanding of the current strategic plans of the Fluid Conveyance Group.
- The ability to effectively supervise people and motivate subordinates, while maintaining organizational harmony and meeting scheduled deadlines.
- Effective communication skills at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work with functions outside of the Pro Team for the common good of Danfoss.
