Job Description Summary

Part Time Casual, Nurse Administrator for Van Wert Hospital. The Nurse Administrator I position is responsible for maintaining efficient and effective operations of nursing units/hospitals by providing direction for patient care services, patient throughput, and support for all hospital departments.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • 50% Contributes to administrative functioning of nursing services by reviewing staffing, reassigning and allocating staff as appropriate to meet changing patient care needs.
  • 15% Serves as a clinical resource and role model to nursing staff; ensures safe and equitable working environments; uses information systems to retrieve, implement, and retain essential records and services.
  • 15% Interacts with internal and external customers and serves as a resource for information and problem solving (media, patient relations, risk management, security, hospital administration, patients and families).
  • 10% Serves as a liaison between nursing services and other hospital departments for problem solving and resolution (Pharmacy, Lab, etc.).
  • 10% Coordinates and/or assists with activities during internal and external emergency situations.
  • Other duties as requested by supervisor.

As a High Reliability Organization (HRO), responsibilities require focus on safety, quality and efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree (Required)
  • RN – Registered Nurse – Ohio Board of Nursing (Required)
  • Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio and/or in good standing with a multi-state compact state.

  • Years of

    Experience:

    2 to 5 years
  • Staffing and scheduling patterns, communication, interpersonal relationships, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Minimum 2 years clinical experience.
  • BLS Certified.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
