What You Will Do
  • Oversee the coordination of events including conferences, seminars, dinners, and training sessions, ensuring seamless progress.
  • In collaboration with other business lines, manage internal and external event communications including promotional materials.
  • Source venues, obtain quotes and conduct site visits; managing vendors and suppliers.
  • Administer event budget and ensure it is maximized.
  • Maintains detailed and accurate event files such as exhibitor databases, contracts, and financial information.
  • Co-ordinates the delivery of materials to events.
  • Provides administrative support to other members of event planning staff.
  • Provides reports on events which include obstacles encountered and opportunities for improvement.
  • Delivers excellent client service throughout the client or potential client experience.
  • Stays available to solve problems and/or suggest alternatives to previous arrangements.
  • Assists on-site during events as needed.
Who You Are
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience coordinating events.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Outstanding oral and written communication capabilities in English;
    French a strong asset.
  • Exceptional organizational and follow-through skills with a sense of urgency and ability to prioritize multiple events and deadlines.
  • Experience working in an Indigenous environment.
  • Must have an understanding, awareness and appreciation of Indigenous culture and history.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing education and training for the role including Indigenous Cultural studies.
