Personnel Assistant I

Summary

The Person nel Assistant performs clerical and secretarial duties related to employee records, benefits, education, training, staffing, compensation, and EEO procedures. The role requires general office equipment operation and discretion in handling confidential personnel information.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain and update manual and automated personnel records.

Process employee benefits, education, and training documentation.

Assist in staffing, employment, and compensation tasks under supervision.

Support EEO procedures and affirmative action reporting.

Handle identification issuance requests and maintain badge records.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Minimum 2 years administrative experience, preferred military personnel support experience.

US citizenship and eligibility for a federal clearance.

Valid NACI investigation and FBI fingerprint check or equivalent.

Proficient in English: speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension.

Valid U.S. state driver’s license.

Qualifications

Ability to organize work, set priorities, and solve problems analytically.

Strong communication and presentation skills for internal and external stakeholders.

Demonstrated discretion and judgment in confidential matters.

Certificates, Licenses, & Registrations
Must possess a valid U.S. state driver’s license applicable to the vehicle operated.

Physical Demands
Reasonable accommodations may be provided for disabilities. Tasks include sitting, speaking, hearing, close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. 1‑hour physical tasks such as walking and turning may be required.

Work Environment
Primarily office-based. Occasional travel to off‑site projects, warehouses, supply points, motor pools, and maintenance facilities may occur for short periods.
