Job Description
  • Disability Claims Administrator is a claims support role that manages disability benefit payments and claim records.
  • This is a temporary full time position with an 18 month contract.
  • The role follows a hybrid work arrangement with two days each week in the Vancouver office.
  • You will support disability claims teams and assist customers with payment related questions.

Responsibilities
  • Complete financial information for new claims and prepare initial benefit calculations.
  • Calculate and issue long term and short term disability benefit payments.
  • Perform disability benefit calculations, rehabilitation calculations and partial period calculations.
  • Calculate underpayments and over payments and process refunds and adjustments.
  • Explain benefit calculations, payments and tax related information to customers.
  • Manage the CPP application process and follow up on claim status.
  • Request and assess medical updates for long term disability claims.
  • Verify other income calculations and complete required follow ups.
  • Support claims teams with administrative and financial duties.
  • Review data reports and resolve system discrepancies.
Requirements
  • Complete post secondary education with a strong financial background or have equivalent related work background.
  • Have excellent mathematical and critical thinking skills.
  • Show strong management and time management skills.
  • Have strong verbal and written interaction skills.
  • Be skilled in MS Suite and learn new industry software.
  • Have strong problem solving skills.
  • Complete a Reliability Status Security Clearance after receiving an offer of employment.
