The Investment Management team focuses on research analysis and delivering strong returns, and the company has more than 1,000 full‑time employees, with headquarters in Toronto and regional offices in Montreal, Calgary, and Vancouver.
The Business Development Representative role offers a progressive career in consultative financial sales. In a business‑to‑business (B2B) model, the sales team partners with financial advisors to support their business regarding financial markets, portfolio construction, product comparisons, and more. Extensive training is designed to teach all the skills necessary to excel and advance into senior sales roles. Since 2016, 100% of senior business development positions have been filled exclusively through internal promotions.
Whatyou will be doing
- Participate in three weeks of in‑depth training to learn the fundamentals of our business and round out your investment and product knowledge.
- Interact directly with clients, learning about their business and how to provide an exceptional customer service experience.
- Address questions from investment professionals and their support teams, putting what you learned into practice.
- Work with advisors and investors to provide support for short‑term and long‑term investment strategies.
- Develop yourself through sales mentorship, peer‑to‑peer learning, and ongoing coaching.
- Collaborate with a District Vice President and Business Development Manager to increase market share in a geographic territory.
- Participate in and host client events.
- Engage in Fidelity’s Sales Development Program, receiving training on communication, presentation, sales, objection handling, and business etiquette.
- Completion of a university degree (upcoming graduates encouraged to apply).
- Strong curiosity about the investment industry and financial markets.
- A desire to develop consultative selling skills to understand unique client needs.
- Ability to work independently and within a dynamic team in a fast‑paced environment.
- Self‑discipline and focus.
- Fluency in French is required for a Montreal office position.
Working hours will be flexible with a hybrid schedule.
Annual salary range: $50,000 – $59,000.
Current work authorization for Canada is required for all openings.
