About the Opportunity

Coast Funds is looking for a full-time Economic Development Analyst based in Vancouver, BC on a hybrid schedule. Remote candidates located elsewhere within BC may also be considered.

Reporting to the Director, Economic Development, you will play a key role in supporting the administration and analysis of economic development projects for First Nations, from initial application through to disbursement, tracking, and reporting. This role supports high-trust funding administration, contributes to developing economic development services and tools, and ensures projects are aligned with Coast Funds’ wellbeing outcomes.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Building and maintaining positive, proactive relationships with participating First Nations
  • Guiding applicants through the funding process and assessing project eligibility
  • Coordinating due diligence activities, including financial planning and risk assessments
  • Conducting financial analysis and reviewing project budgets
  • Preparing and coordinating documentation required for funding agreements and disbursements
  • Recording, tracking, and analyzing key indicators, data, and project outcomes
  • Supporting active projects by monitoring progress, risks, and reporting requirements
  • Contributing to wellbeing outcomes evaluation and impact analysis
  • Conducting research and analysis on provincial and federal economic development initiatives
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support meetings, materials, and project coordination
  • Maintaining accurate records and correspondence in CRM systems
  • Carrying out additional duties that support the economic development function within Coast Funds
About You

To qualify, you will need post-secondary education in commerce, business administration, economic development, or a related field,
or an equivalent combination of training and lived experience
, along with strong financial and risk analysis skills. A minimum of 1-3 years of related experience in financial analysis, project evaluation, or a similar role supporting economic development will also be essential.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Experience conducting business or sector research and analysis
  • Knowledge of First Nations history, culture, governance, or community contexts
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce) and database tools
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience managing confidential client information and file systems
