Cymax Group isseekinga driven and relationship-focused Business Development Manager to expand our vendor network across furniture and adjacent home categories.
This role is responsible for identifying, qualifying, onboarding, and scaling new vendor partners across major marketplaces such as Amazon, Walmart. You will play a critical role in growing our ecosystem by building meaningful partnerships and ensuring new vendors ramp quickly and successfully.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high-output environments, enjoys building relationships from scratch, and is motivated by turning conversations into long-term partnerships.
This is a hybrid role, based in the Vancouver, BC area. The ideal candidates will work 2 days in the Vancouver office, with the flexibility to work remotely for the remainder of the week.
What You’ll Be Doing Vendor Acquisition & Prospecting:- Identify and research high-potential vendor partners in furniture and adjacent categories.
- Generate and qualify new business opportunities using structured outreach and pipeline management.
- Build long-lasting, value-driven relationships with prospective partners.
- Clearly articulate Cymax’s value proposition and how our platforms drive scalable growth.
- Maintain a strong understanding of competitive marketplace dynamics and positioning.
- Own the full sales cycle from first contact through signed partnership.
- Manage and maintain a healthy, organized CRM pipeline with consistent follow-up.
- Track outreach performance and optimize prospecting strategies for efficiency and impact.
- Collaborate with Marketing on category targeting and vendor segmentation strategies.
- Evaluate prospective vendors for operational readiness, catalog strength, and marketplace fit.
- Guide partners through onboarding, ensuring accurate data capture and timely integration.
- Partner cross-functionally with operations, integration, and account management teams to ensure smooth launch.
- Monitor onboarding timelines and remove friction points to accelerate time-to-live.
- Act as the primary point of contact for newly onboarded vendors during ramp-up.
- Foster strong working relationships built on trust, transparency, and shared growth goals.
- Identify opportunities to expand assortment, increase participation, and drive long-term ecosystem growth.
- Leverage CRM, automation, and AI tools to improve prospecting efficiency and qualification quality.
- Use data insights to prioritize outreach and identify high-probability vendor opportunities.
- Continuously refine workflows to increase acquisition speed and onboarding accuracy.
- 1–3 years of experience in business development, sales, partnerships, or account management.
- Strong relationship-building and networking skills — you’re comfortable starting conversations and turning them into opportunities.
- Excellent communication and storytelling ability — you can clearly articulate value and tailor your message to different audiences.
- Strong pipeline management skills and experience using CRM tools.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Data-driven mindset with comfort using Excel or similar tools to track performance.
- Coachable, resilient, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, performance-oriented environment.
- Experience in ecommerce, online marketplaces, retail, or adjacent product categories (home, lifestyle, furniture, fitness, pet, etc.).
