Purchasing Specialist

The Purchaser is responsible for sourcing and purchasing raw materials, packaging, ingredients, and operational supplies to support manufacturing and distribution within the food industry. This role ensures materials are procured at the best value while meeting quality, food safety, regulatory, and delivery requirements to maintain continuous production and timely distribution.
Vancouver based, hybrid remote option

Responsibilities:

Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers

Request and compare price quotations

Lead price, contract, and terms negotiations with suppliers to secure the best value

Negotiate delivery schedules, payment terms, and service agreements

Create and process purchase orders

Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier records

Monitor inventory levels and reorder supplies as needed

Ensure purchased materials meet food safety and quality standards

Develop and maintain strong, professional supplier relationships

Requirements:

Post secondary in supply chain, procurement, operations or related

Previous purchasing experience, preferably in food manufacturing

Strong knowledge of procurement processes

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel)
