Metrie is North America’s largest manufacturer and distributor of mouldings and doors, helping people transform houses into homes through high‑quality interior finishings. Founded in Vancouver in 1926 and still family‑owned, Metrie has built nearly a century of industry leadership through product excellence, customer focus, and disciplined growth. Today, we operate at meaningful scale across Canada and the U.S., with 40 distribution centers and manufacturing facilities, and roles spanning distribution, manufacturing, and corporate functions.
Location:
In‑office, 4 days per week at Vancouver Head Office.
Employment Type:
Full‑time, fixed‑term contract created to provide four months of support. While this role has a defined end date, Metrie is a growing organization, and there may be potential opportunities beyond the initial term depending on business needs and individual performance.
What You'll Do:
Metrie is investing in financial analysis and AI‑driven data insights to support better business decisions. In this role you’ll play a hands‑on part in that work, exposing you to real‑world business data and the opportunity to use Excel and AI to analyze information that supports key company initiatives. The analysis you produce will help inform decisions that matter to the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Leverage advanced Excel capabilities to analyze and synthesize large financial datasets – apply advanced Excel techniques, including complex formulas and pivot tables, to extract, structure, and analyze high‑volume data from ERP systems such as SAP.
Support executive reporting – extract and consolidate large datasets from SAP and integrate them into a centralized financial model. Maintain and update this model to support senior leadership reporting, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
Develop and apply AI‑driven tools to transform unstructured data into insights – design and build AI‑enabled solutions to process and analyze large volumes of varied and unstructured data, including cost invoices. Improve efficiency, scalability, and insight generation.
Who You Are:
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate business degree program, or recent business graduate
Strong in Excel – comfortable working with large spreadsheets, formulas, pivot tables, and functions to organize and analyze data
Analytical by nature – you think in terms of patterns, logic, and evidence, and enjoy digging into data to answer questions
Computer and technology‑savvy – comfortable picking up new tools quickly
A fast learner – you thrive when thrown into something new and figure it out
Highly motivated – you take ownership and push work to the finish line
A natural problem‑solver – you enjoy untangling messy data and can see a path toward a better solution
Curious about AI – excited to explore how AI can transform data analysis
Why This Role Matters:
Your analysis will directly inform decisions that matter to the business. This role is an opportunity to build practical financial analysis skills, work with AI‑enabled tools, contribute to meaningful business questions, and see your impact from day one.
What You'll Enjoy:
Competitive pay and a meaningful four‑month fixed‑term opportunity supporting a strategic project, with exposure to a growing North American organization
The opportunity to work for a well‑established industry leader with nearly 100 years of excellence and a proven track record of strategic growth
Exposure to high‑caliber finance and business leaders in a dynamic organization where strong analysis helps shape business outcomes
A collaborative environment that values innovation, continuous learning, ownership, and professional development
Pay Transparency:
The hourly pay range for this role is set at $25–$30 per hour. Pay may vary based on skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.
EEO Statement:
Metrie embraces diversity and is committed to creating an inclusive environment where all team members and customers belong. We are an equal‑opportunity employer and welcome all qualified applicants. If you require accommodation at any time throughout the recruitment process, please contact our Human Resources team.
Metrie conducts pre‑employment screening including but not limited to background checks and references for all final candidates. All applications will be independently reviewed.
Pre‑Employment Requirements:
Successful candidates will be required to complete a criminal record check.
Completion of a Predictive Index (PI) behavioral and cognitive assessment as part of the selection process.
Employment is contingent upon satisfactory results in accordance with applicable privacy and human rights legislation.
