What You Will Do Summary

Reporting to the Leader, Disability Management, the Coordinator, Disability & Attendance Management will:

  • Act as a PHC representative providing case management support to employees and managers
  • Coordinate employee absences related to occupational and non-occupational illness or injury
  • Manage follow-up, assessment, evaluation, planning, and monitoring of return-to-work and health support options
  • Collaborate with managers, unions, third parties, and stakeholders to support positive health and work outcomes
  • Provide guidance and strategies to reduce absenteeism and support workplace wellness
  • Coordinate and implement PHC’s Attendance and Wellness Promotion Program
  • Support organizational sick leave targets and promotes regular attendance at work
  • Provide advice, guidance, and support to management on attendance and wellness matters
  • Coordinate reporting and technological support related to sick time tracking and attendance management
  • Assist in the development and updating of attendance and wellness policies, procedures, education, and training materials
  • Work collaboratively with leadership to support attendance management initiatives and workplace wellness strategies
What You Bring

Education & Qualifications :

  • Completion of a recognized Degree, Diploma or Certificate with emphasis on Human Resources, Occupational Health (Disability Management) or a related health care
  • Two (2) years recent, related experience in a large, complex environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Skills and Abilities :

  • Knowledge of disability management and relevant human resources principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of relevant collective agreement provisions, government legislation and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Ability to use a disability case management model.
  • Ability to foster effective working relationships, both internal and external.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong decision making, critical‑thinking, analytical and problem‑solving ability.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work, handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Intermediate skills using a variety of computerized software packages such as Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Access, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to use relevant Human Resources Information Systems.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
