We’re looking for a thoughtful, experienced Compliance Officer to help strengthen our compliance, privacy, and risk practices, and to support a culture of accountability, care, and trust across the Foundation.
Reporting to the Vice President & CFO, you’ll play an important role in helping the Foundation meet its compliance, privacy, regulatory, and ethical obligations. In this role, you’ll work in partnership with teams across the organization to provide practical guidance, strengthen internal processes, and support thoughtful, informed decisions that help protect our reputation and advance our cause.
More specifically, you will:
Privacy & Compliance Oversight- Lead operational privacy and compliance coordination across the Foundation.
- Monitor legal, regulatory, and sector‑specific obligations and support timely action to address changes.
- Develop, maintain, and support the consistent application of compliance and privacy policies, standards, and procedures.
- Manage the investigation and response to privacy incidents, including investigation, documentation, risk assessment, and required notifications. Identify and support remediation activities.
- Manage Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance processes and reporting requirements.
- Manage enterprise risk management processes, including maintaining the risk register, tracking mitigation actions, and identifying emerging risks.
- Coordinate compliance, privacy, and risk input into vendor due diligence and third‑party risk processes.
- Conduct targeted compliance reviews and support ongoing monitoring and assurance activities.
- Act as a trusted advisor to leaders and teams on privacy, compliance, ethics, and risk management.
- Develop and deliver training, guidance, and tools that strengthen understanding and application of compliance requirements across the Foundation.

In addition, you bring:
- At least 7 years of progressive experience in compliance, privacy, risk, governance, audit, legal, finance, or a related area. Strong knowledge of PIPA and PIPEDA are required.
- Experience in a charity, nonprofit, public sector, or other regulated environment is preferred.
- Experience supporting privacy compliance programs, privacy incident management, and application of privacy legislation and best practices.
- Experience leading cross‑functional initiatives or supporting organizational change, particularly in environments requiring collaboration, influence, and process implementation across teams.
- Post‑secondary education in law, public administration, business, finance, risk management, or a related field.
