About the Team
New Verticals is building the future of local commerce by bringing new ways to delight our customers to market beyond restaurants across the US and Canada. We are looking for top talent to play a pivotal role in growing our International New Verticals business.
About the RoleWe are hiring two Associate positions based in Canada to support our New Verticals Strategy & Operations team. These roles involve identifying, leading, and prioritizing initiatives to improve our operating rhythms across New Verticals, impacting both the US and Canadian businesses. You will lead short‑term execution, strategize long‑term plans, and implement product features that:
- Optimize dasher performance by improving quality & efficiency.
- Improve costs and manage toward our bottom‑line goals.
- Enhance our catalog quality around completeness & discoverability.
You'll partner with other strategy & operations teams, enterprise partner managers, product, engineering, analytics, and internal stakeholders. This is an individual contributor position. We operate in a hybrid model; you will spend time working remotely and some time in person. You must be currently based in Toronto or Vancouver.
You're excited about this opportunity because you will…- Build. You will have your fingerprints all over Door Dash’s New Verticals business by improving scalable processes, enhancing data quality, catalog health, efficiency metrics, and more.
- Experiment. You will transform strategies into operational experiments that create measurable and actionable outcomes, informing larger initiative implementation plans. Experiments start small with a metrics‑based approach to scale internationally.
- Analyze. You will analyze operational data rooted in quality, cost, and efficiency metrics to inform strategy, assess operational and financial impacts, and iterate based on data. You will use AI tools to enhance, not replace, your work and scale new ways of automating.
- You are a self‑starter. You have a bias for action and thrive in a fast‑paced, constantly changing environment.
- You are a problem solver. You synthesize complex problems, translate high‑level goals into actionable plans, and enjoy implementing processes. You think innovatively and resist “this is how it’s always been done” thinking.
- You are analytical. You use data to inform tough decisions and are comfortable operating at both the 10,000‑foot level and 10‑inch level. You are proficient in tools like Excel and SQL.
- You are becoming AI native. You gain experience with AI tools such as Claude, Code, and Cursor to accelerate problem‑solving, analysis, or workflow execution.
- You work to get 1% better every day. You constantly look for opportunities to improve your work product and own the outcome—both good and bad.
- You have 1‑2+ years of experience in consulting, finance, or related strategy and operations.
- You have a completed Bachelor’s Degree.
