Empower women in trades through the role of Job Developer at YWCA BC. Support participants in securing apprenticeships and employment while connecting with employers in the industry.
As a Job Developer – Trades Placement Specialist, you will work directly with self-identifying women in YWCA BC’s Higher Ground Program. Your responsibility will be to assist participants in navigating career opportunities, providing coaching in job search tools, and maintaining vital employer partnerships for their success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess individual participant needs and market them effectively
• Create employment opportunities through marketing strategies
• Provide coaching on resumes, cover letters, and interviews
• Stay informed on labour market trends and trades opportunities
• Facilitate Wage Subsidy Work Experience Placements
Requirements:
• 2 years of experience in job development or coaching
• Valid BC Class 5 driver’s license
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and apprenticeship systems
• Clear criminal record check required
