Position: Battalion Chief for YVR Fire Rescue
Elevate aircraft firefighting operations at YVR as a Battalion Chief. This on-site position offers an opportunity to guide firefighters while ensuring compliance with critical emergency response protocols.

As a full-time chief in this 18-month term role, you will collaborate closely with the Deputy Fire Chiefs to design and implement a robust strategic fire protection plan. Your leadership will drive team performance, while your extensive operational experience will enhance departmental standards. Interacting effectively with various stakeholders is crucial to the role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement fire protection strategies

• Act as operational support and on-call duty chief

• Communicate with the firefighting team and administration

• Ensure data quality and attend to staffing needs

• Administer ARFF training in accordance with regulations

Requirements:

• NFPA 1021 Fire Officer III certification

• Minimum five years of leadership experience

• Proficiency in business and office software

• Class 3 BC Driver’s License

• Quick incident response capability within 45 minutes
