Parks Canada is seeking a dedicated Visitor Safety Technician to coordinate and respond to incidents effectively. This full-time position requires a mix of backcountry and desk work, ensuring visitor safety through weather and wave monitoring programs. You will lead technical and non-technical responses to incidents while adapting to various changing conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead technical responses to visitor safety incidents
• Observe and report on weather, wave, and storm conditions
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams on incident responses
• Spend time in remote locations for effective monitoring
• Prepare detailed incident reports for analysis
Requirements:
• Ability to follow and prioritize established procedures
• Experience in a multidisciplinary work environment
• Skills in data collection and analysis
• Strong adaptability and flexibility
• Responsible and dedicated approach to visitor safety
