Amazon Canada's Hardlines team is seeking a self-driven Vendor Manager to join our dynamic team. Vendor Managers work directly with strategic vendors to enhance value, selection, and convenience for our customers while driving profitability and topline performance across their categories.
AboutThe Role
As a Vendor Manager, you'll leverage customer obsession and data-driven analytics to develop creative solutions that drive business growth. You'll manage key manufacturer relationships on and collaborate with cross-functional teams including site merchandising, buying, pricing, inventory management, operations, online marketing, and finance to optimize performance for our vendor partners.
This position offers a unique opportunity to work at one of the world's most innovative online retailers while developing strong functional skills in online merchandising, marketing, buying, planning, forecasting, pricing, and business analytics.
Key job responsibilities- Lead key categories and brand relationship for
- Drive business growth through strategic vendor and brand relationship management
- Negotiate contracts and manage vendor terms
- Optimize selection, catalog management, and inventory levels
- Generate forecasts and manage product launches
- Develop and execute pricing strategies
- Conduct detailed analytical deep dives to identify growth opportunities
- Own P&L performance for your category
Collaborate cross-functionally to elevate customer experience
A day in the lifeAs a Vendor Manager, you'll start your day reviewing key business metrics and addressing any immediate vendor issues. You might spend the morning analyzing performance data to identify growth opportunities before joining a negotiation call with a strategic vendor. After lunch, you'll collaborate with merchandising and marketing teams to plan upcoming promotions, then meet with finance to review pricing strategies. Throughout the day, you'll respond to vendor inquiries, coordinate with cross-functional partners, and continuously look for ways to improve selection and profitability.

BasicQualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 2+ years of account management, project or program management or buying experience
- Speak, write, and read fluently in English at C1 level or above
- Experience using analytical specific tools such as Google Analytics, SQL or HTML
- Experience working in a cross-functional or client-facing environment
- Experience in process improvement
- Experience managing large amounts of data
- Experience in vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion, inventory management, and product development
- Usage of generative AI tools to enhance workflow efficiency, with a willingness to learn effective prompting and evaluation practices.
- Ability to recognize opportunities where generative AI could enhance products, workflows, or customer experiences.
