A leading organization in the natural resources sector is seeking a PROJECT COMMERCIAL SERVICES SPECIALIST to support the delivery of large-scale capital projects. This role is responsible for executing procurement and contracting strategies, managing service agreements, and supporting project performance through effective commercial oversight.
Work Location:
Vancouver with periodic travel to project sites across BC
Contract Duration: 1 year with possible extension
Employment Type:
Independent Contractor
- Support end-to-end procurement of services including engineering, consulting, and site support services
- Develop and execute contracting strategies aligned with project objectives
- Prepare and issue tender documentation, manage bid evaluations, and support award recommendations
- Negotiate commercial terms and draft service agreements and contract documents
- Manage contract variations, extensions, and change orders through to completion
- Review supplier invoices against contract terms and support payment processes
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure effective service delivery
- Identify opportunities to optimize costs and improve commercial outcomes
- Support logistics, equipment, and operational service agreements as required
- Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related discipline
- Strong understanding of procurement, contracting, and commercial processes
- Experience in procurement, contracts, or commercial roles within projects or industrial environments
- Exposure to capital projects, construction, or mining environments preferred
- Familiarity with ERP or procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Ariba) is an asset
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
- Analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Effective stakeholder communication and relationship management
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment
