Job Overview

As the 2D FX Supervisor, you will lead the team in 2D FX, maintaining high-quality standards and leveraging advanced proficiency in Toon Boom Harmony. You'll manage workflows and artists, and collaborate closely with other departments to meet project timelines. Executing complex 2D FX tasks with precision, you'll shape key effects in alignment with the creative vision, while providing mentorship to junior artists and ensuring cohesive artistic direction with the department head.

Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Toon Boom Harmony, utilizing its features to achieve high-quality 2D FX effects.
  • Execute a diverse range of 2D FX tasks with precision and creativity, ensuring the highest quality standards for each project.
  • Develop and implement reusable 2D FX setups or templates, streamlining workflows and providing valuable tools for other artists to achieve a consistent look.
  • Be responsible for completing the most challenging shots on the team.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure all shots are delivered on time.
  • Offer mentorship and guidance to junior and intermediate artists, fostering their growth and development within the team.
  • Support in the development of 2D animated graphics and character elements when requested.
  • Assist in off-pipe rendering tasks if needed for and ensure that all elements are set up and labeled accurately.
Skills and Experience
  • Provide strong leadership, setting and maintaining high-quality standards for the team.
  • Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Toon Boom Harmony, leveraging its features to achieve outstanding 2D FX effects.
  • Guide the team in efficiently completing a diverse range of 2D FX tasks, ensuring alignment with the project's quality standards.
  • Manage file naming conventions, optimizing workflows to facilitate seamless project delivery and avoid potential issues.
  • Take a lead role in collaborative efforts with other departments, ensuring tasks are completed promptly to meet project timelines.
  • Execute complex 2D FX tasks with precision, meeting exact descriptions outlined in task callouts.
  • Collaborate closely with show and art directors, contributing significantly to the creative vision by shaping key effects in the project.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior and intermediate artists, fostering their growth and development within the team.
  • Work closely with the head of the department to align strategies and ensure cohesive artistic direction.
  • Collaborate effectively with the production team to manage timelines, resources, and project deliverables.
