The Role
We’re looking for a Video Editor who knows how to craft long-form stories that keep viewers hooked and short-form clips that make people stop scrolling.
YYou’ll be working with a creative team that’s building high-performing, culture-driven content across multiple channels — from Abacus You Tube to Pixicade Tik Tok and beyond.
This role blends creative editing, pacing, and retention-driven storytelling with sharp motion graphics and a pulse on what works now.
What You’ll Do- Edit 1 long-form You Tube video per week (10 minutes)
- Cut multiple short-form videos from each long-form piece for cross-platform distribution (Tik Tok, Reels, Shorts)
- Craft edits that maximize viewer retention — through elite pacing, sharp storytelling, and retention-driven structure
- Elevate every video with text animation, polished sound design, dynamic motion graphics, and overlays
- Collaborate with producers and the creative team to brainstorm formats, hooks, and thumbnails
- Organize, name, and deliver assets for upload
- Stay ahead of You Tube trends, editing styles, and algorithm shifts
- Proven experience editing high-performing You Tube content (send us examples!)
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro (After Effects and Photoshop are a plus)
- Strong storytelling instincts and a deep understanding of pacing for retention
- Experience designing motion graphics, lower thirds, and title sequences
- Knowledge of You Tube optimization (hooks, intros, pacing, etc.)
- Strong communication, fast turnaround, and attention to detail
