INTERMEDIATE LIGHTING ARTIST - CSG

The team is looking for a highly creative and motivated Lighting Artist. In this position, you will help create visually stunning scenes and collaborate with Art and Engineering to solve technical problems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work closely with Art, Cinematic, and Technical Art teams to create industry-leading visuals across various environments.
• Craft compelling lighting that supports story, art direction, and gameplay objectives.
• Translate conceptual illustrations into real-time lighting visuals.
• Collaborate with Art and Technical Art teams to address technical challenges within constraints.
• Seek feedback and communicate effectively with Art Directors, Lighting Lead, Cinematic Director, and other departments.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 5+ years’ experience in video game or film production.
• A portfolio demonstrating strong understanding of lighting, composition, and color.
• Experience with Unreal Engine 4 or 5, Frostbite, Snowdrop, or similar game engines (preferred).
• Knowledge of real-time lighting principles (dynamic lighting, sub-surface scattering, HDR, SSAO, SSGI, P ), atmospherics, and post-processing.
• Understanding of how light, shadow, and color create tone and mood.
• Strong skills in compositional storytelling and cinematography.
• Background in photography, cinematography, and lighting is a plus.
• Ability to collaborate, share ideas, give and receive feedback.
• Effective time management skills.

Salary Range: CAD $112,000 - $116,000 annually, depending on factors such as location, skills, education, and experience.
