You will play a key public‑facing role creating meaningful connections with the audience through CBC News BC’s social media feeds and other digital platforms. You will mine those connections for story ideas to inform and contribute to our journalism.

You are up‑to‑date on cultural moments and trends. You are a strong believer in the role of the CBC as Canada’s public broadcaster, possess a key understanding of our mandate to serve Canadians, and bring your own unique take on how to achieve it. You are a self‑starter and team player who thrives under deadline pressure and excels at pitching original content and innovative story treatments. You are a critical thinker who is solutions‑oriented with experience working in a fast‑paced environment and fronting innovative journalism with the goal of building a direct relationship with audiences. Working with our Producer of Digital Video, you will own and execute the social media landscape through content development, best practices, video production, monitoring analytics and reporting.

You have relevant experience with a background in news on various social media platforms. Your work will be governed by and adhere to CBC journalistic and programming policies, standards and practices. Advice and guidance are available but initiative and independent judgment are expected. This role reports to the Executive Producer of News and Digital Video.
