At Cossette, our Senior Copywriters are creative powerhouses. Equal parts sharp thinker and masterful wordsmith, they don’t just meet the brief—they push it further. Whether flying solo or teaming up with an Art Director, they own projects end to end, turning big ideas into bold, cross‑channel work. To thrive here, a Senior Copywriter needs serious talent, a passion for the work, and the drive to lead by example.

Transparency matters to us. For this role, you can expect a salary between $80,000‑ $100,000 annually, depending on experience. This is for an existing vacancy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conceptual Writing: Develop original and persuasive copy concepts, headlines, taglines, and long‑form content for various channels (digital, print, video scripts, social media, OOH, radio). Proficiently use contemporary writing tools, including generative AI, to brainstorm ideas, generate multiple copy variations, optimize existing copy, and create initial drafts for a full range of channels.
  • Brand Voice: Master and evolve brand voices for assigned clients, ensuring all copy is on‑brand, strategically sound, and impactful across all relevant platforms.
  • Strategic Storytelling: Translate complex briefs and strategic insights into clear, concise, and compelling narratives that resonate with target audiences, ensuring they are adaptable for integrated campaign storytelling.
  • Craft Excellence: Obsess over every word. Ensure all copy is clear, emotive, on strategy and grammatically correct. Critically review all your work, including that assisted by AI, for accuracy, nuance, emotional resonance, and ethical implications, applying a vital human touch.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Art Directors to develop integrated concepts. Collaborate with strategists, account managers, and clients.
  • Presentation: Confidently present copy concepts and rationale to internal teams and clients, demonstrating how copy will drive impact across the media landscape.
  • Mentorship: Begin to mentor and provide guidance to more junior Copywriters, sharing knowledge and best practices, including effective use of modern writing tools and thinking about how copy scales across channels. You encourage curiosity and experimentation, pushing teams out of their comfort zone to test new ideas.
  • Industry Awareness: Stay current with language trends, cultural shifts, and effective communication strategies across all media channels.
  • Represent Cossette: As one on the verge of creative leadership, you lead by example and with optimism. You’re an ambassador for Cossette, both internally and externally. You celebrate our people (especially younger creatives), our successes and those of our client partners.
Skills & Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a Copywriter in an advertising agency.
  • A portfolio demonstrating strong conceptual abilities and exceptional craft with examples that have been successfully executed across multiple channels.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment, focused on integrated campaign delivery.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong understanding of strategic thinking and its application to creative work, with an ability to develop channel‑agnostic solutions.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines for complex, integrated campaigns.
  • Proficiency in using generative AI tools (e.g., Midjourney, DALL‑E, ChatGPT) as a creative aid to accelerate ideation and production for various channels.
  • Awareness of ethical considerations and potential biases in content created with new technologies like generative AI.
