2D Animation Lead; YouTube Series

Role Overview

We are looking for a 2D Animation Artist with experience in Toon Boom Harmony to create expressive, engaging character animation for a preschool audience. Working from storyboards and production-ready rigs, you will bring characters to life through strong acting, appealing poses, and thoughtful timing while collaborating with Directors and Supervisors to deliver high-quality animation that supports the creative vision of the series.

• Work closely with the Animation Director to support the creative vision, style, and quality of the production.
• Provide guidance, feedback, and mentorship to 2D Animators, helping maintain consistency and quality across the project.
• Review animation work and provide constructive feedback on performance, timing, posing, and overall execution.
• Help communicate Director notes and ensure feedback is incorporated into animation sequences.
• Support the team in solving creative and technical challenges while maintaining production goals.
• Collaborate with the Animation Director, Production, and other departments to ensure animation milestones are achieved.
• Share knowledge, contribute to team discussions, and help foster a positive and collaborative environment.
• Participate in recruiting and portfolio reviews as needed.

• 1–2 years of experience in a Leadership experience within a 2D Animation production environment.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating 2D animation skills, character performance, and storytelling.
• Extensive experience using Toon Boom Harmony.
• Strong understanding of traditional 2D animation principles and cut-out animation workflows.
• Strong character acting skills, including comedy, subtle expressions, and dynamic movement.
• Ability to provide clear feedback and collaborate effectively with artists and creative leadership.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to find creative solutions.

Start date:

early August 2026.

Pay Range: CAD $1600 - $1700 per week.

This salary range reflects our current expectations as of this posting. Final salary offer will consider education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business needs.
