Coastal Front is looking to hire a Podcast & Media Producer to join our fully on-site, Vancouver-based team.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the start-to-end production and coordination of the Coastal Front podcast.
  • Research and identify high-profile guests, industry experts, politicians, and thought leaders for upcoming episodes.
  • Conduct outreach, manage guest communications, and coordinate interview scheduling.
  • Maintain detailed records of contacts and tasks within Salesforce.
  • Prepare guest briefing materials, background research, interview notes, and episode outlines.
  • Collaborate with the host and journalist to develop engaging episode topics and interview questions.
  • Write and edit podcast scripts, introductions, talking points, show notes, and supporting content.
  • Maintain the podcast production calendar and ensure episodes are delivered on schedule.
  • Coordinate with videographers and marketing team members to ensure timely production and publication.
  • Review recorded episodes for accuracy, quality, and consistency before release.
  • Manage post-production workflows, publishing schedules, and distribution across podcast platforms.
  • Work with the marketing team to develop promotional campaigns for each episode across social media and digital channels.
  • Create supporting marketing copy, captions, blog content, and promotional assets to maximize audience engagement.
  • Track podcast performance metrics and recommend improvements to content strategy, guest selection, and audience growth.
  • Stay informed on Canadian politics, business, finance, and current events to proactively identify timely content opportunities.
  • Writing engaging news and opinion articles.
  • Assist with other media production, research, and content initiatives as required.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in Communications, Journalism, Political Science, Business, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years experience producing podcasts, digital media, video content, or similar editorial productions.
  • Knowledge of Canadian politics, current affairs, finance, and public policy is considered a must-have.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong research skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into engaging content.
  • Comfortable communicating with executives, politicians, business leaders, and other high-profile guests.
  • Experience writing interview questions, scripts, articles, or long‑form content.
  • Self‑starter with strong initiative, sound judgment, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced media environment and adapt quickly to breaking news.
  • Professional and polished demeanor.
  • Familiarity with podcast publishing platforms, You Tube, social media channels, and content management workflows is an asset.
