• Lead the design and execution of advanced visual effects simulations, including fluid dynamics, particle systems, and rigid body dynamics, to create stunning visuals that captivate audiences.
• Collaborate closely with the visual effects supervisor and other departments to ensure that the effects align with the overall artistic direction of the project.
• Develop and maintain tools and scripts to optimize workflows, improve efficiency, and enhance the quality of visual effects production.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to visual effects, providing solutions that maintain the integrity of the artistic vision.
• Mentor junior artists and technical directors, providing guidance and support to foster their professional growth and enhance team capabilities.
• Participate in reviews and feedback sessions, offering constructive critiques and suggestions to improve the quality of the work produced by the team.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies, integrating new techniques and tools into the production pipeline to maintain a competitive edge.
• Document processes and best practices to ensure consistency and knowledge sharing within the team, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in visual effects production, specifically in a technical director role, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
• Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Houdini, Maya, and Nuke, with a deep understanding of their capabilities and limitations.
• Strong knowledge of physics-based simulations and a solid understanding of the principles of animation and visual storytelling.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python or MEL to develop tools and automate processes within the production pipeline.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide effective solutions under tight deadlines.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members and convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Familiarity with rendering engines such as Arnold or Redshift, and an understanding of their integration within the visual effects pipeline.
• Experience in a leadership role, with a proven track record of managing projects and guiding teams to successful outcomes.
• Knowledge of compositing techniques and experience working closely with compositors to ensure seamless integration of visual effects into final shots.
• A background in traditional art or animation, providing a strong foundation for understanding visual aesthetics and storytelling.

• Advanced knowledge of Houdini for procedural modeling and simulation.
• Proficient in Maya for animation and rigging tasks.
• Familiarity with Nuke for compositing and post-production processes.
• Strong understanding of rendering techniques and optimization for visual effects.
• Experience with Python and MEL for scripting and tool development.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring high-quality outputs.
