Senior Tax Manager – Mobility Tax Practice
We are currently seeking a Senior Tax Manager to join our People Advisory Services – Mobility Tax practice. The role focuses on securing and analyzing client tax data, preparing and reviewing Canadian and US personal income tax returns, and providing tax planning and advisory services related to mobility, executive compensation, and employer tax. The Senior Tax Manager will lead mobility engagements, manage financials of client accounts, and contribute to the development of new service offerings.
Yourkey responsibilities
- Interface with clients and colleagues worldwide by phone and in person
- Analyze client tax data to determine filing positions and provide tax planning advice
- Review US and Canadian personal income tax returns
- Advise clients on tax implications of working in another jurisdiction
- Seek increased revenue through existing and new client relationships; represent EY at external networking events
- Conduct tax technical research to support compliance and advisory deliverables
- Contribute to the national education program by preparing and delivering tax technical material
- Leverage technology to maximize productivity
- Manage client account financials, including budgets, resource requirements, invoicing, and revenue recognition
- Lead and manage mobility engagements and business development efforts related to Mobility and other People Advisory Services
- Develop and innovate new service offerings
- Monitor engagement and team performance, provide guidance, feedback, and facilitate teamwork
- Support a flexible, stable, and team‑oriented culture that fosters personal development
- Guide junior colleagues on tax technical and performance management skills
- Identify opportunities for EY’s Mobility – People Advisory Service and other special services
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to share knowledge, motivate a team, and stay abreast of current trends and technical advancements
- Sound professional judgement and high level of professionalism
- Ability to innovate and adapt to the market
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- U.S. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) credential, either obtained or in progress
- Minimum of seven (7) years of US and/or Canadian personal income tax experience
- Knowledge of automated tax processing systems and tax laws; ability to interpret actuarial concepts and results in a business context
- A commitment to learning in a technical tax environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Visio
- Strong team player who supports colleagues and manages workload and development

EY reports salary ranges in accordance with applicable provincial pay transparency legislation. Salary ranges (Vancouver): $128,000 to $178,000.
