The opportunity
Be part of the team behind the deal. As a Senior in EY’s Transaction Tax practice, you’ll work on transactions that shape companies’ futures. You’ll help clients assess the tax implications of acquisitions and divestitures, guiding them through due diligence, structuring, and execution. This role offers hands‑on involvement in live deals and the chance to develop both technical depth and commercial awareness in a fast‑moving environment.
Yourkey responsibilities
- Support and contribute to tax due diligence and transaction advisory engagements across buy‑side and sell‑side transactions
- Analyze acquisitions, divestitures, and corporate transactions to assess tax implications and structuring considerations
- Identify tax risks, exposures, and planning opportunities, and help translate findings into clear, practical insights
- Prepare tax research, technical analyses, and draft memoranda to support transaction recommendations
- Support coordination of engagement activities, including managing work streams and tracking deliverables
- Assist in developing tax‑efficient structuring and planning strategies aligned with client objectives
- Collaborate across teams and build strong working relationships internally and with clients
- A solid foundation in Canadian tax concepts, with an interest in transaction‑related tax matters
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex information and translate it into practical insights
- Ability to identify key tax risks, opportunities, and implications within transactions with guidance as needed
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and concisely to team members and clients
- A keen eye for detail and commitment to delivering high‑quality, accurate work within tight timelines
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and contribute to project delivery in a deadline‑driven environment
- Sound judgment, curiosity, and a proactive approach to problem‑solving
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant area of study
- A professional credential or advanced degree such as CPA, MTax, CPA In‑depth Tax, LLB or LLM
- Exposure to mergers and acquisitions or international tax is an asset
