Financial Controller

Contract Controller needed in downtown Vancouver! Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Financial Controller in the financial space in Vancouver, British Columbia. We are partnering with a project-based professional services organization to hire a Controller to support financial operations and drive business performance. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative team and play a key role in both day-to-day accounting and strategic decision-making.

Salary: $90.00 - $100.00 hourly

downtown Vancouver

Contract to permanent hire (starting in a contract position to ensure right fit) Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm Hybrid work model

• Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Oversee general accounting functions, including reconciliations and close processes
• Manage project-based financial tracking, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Partner with operational leaders to provide insight into project performance and profitability
• Support cash flow management, budgeting, and long-term financial planning
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and support audit processes
• Maintain and enhance internal controls, policies, and financial procedures

• CPA designation required
• 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including leadership exposure
• Strong background in project-based or professional services environments
• Experience with financial reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate financial insights clearly
• Net Suite experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP
