Newmark is currently seeking a Sr. Analyst based in Vancouver or Kelowna to join its National Investment team, part of Canada Valuation & Advisory.
Responsibilities- Support institutional clients’ acquisition, asset management and lending needs across Canada.
- Develop cash‑flow projections for the appraisal process using industry‑standard software.
- Prepare accurate analysis or portions of appraisal reports, incorporating recent market information from internal and external partners.
- Conduct research and collect data on market rental rates, comparable building transactions and general market knowledge.
- Enter collected data accurately into the company database in a timely manner.
- Continuously upgrade knowledge of market and industry trends.
- Serve as a Candidate of the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC); maintain candidate status by completing required courses.
- Assist in building inspections in the local area in partnership with senior appraisers (Consultant, Sr. Consultant, Associate Director, Director, Sr. Director).
- University degree in Commerce, Real Estate, Economics, Finance or related field.
- 1‑2 years of work experience in commercial real‑estate valuation or appraisal.
- Excellent written, verbal, oral presentation and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel with VLOOKUP, IF statements, pivot tables).
- Basic skills in creating financial models (Excel, Argus).
- Strong research, quantitative and analytical abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Self‑motivated with high integrity, honesty and ethics.
- Availability to work flexible hours and travel locally for building inspections.
- Candidate status with the AIC is considered an asset; prior valuation experience also considered an asset.
$70,000 – $75,000 annually, with potential for discretionary bonuses and other short‑ and long‑term incentives.
