Mortgage Underwriter at First National

Join First National as a Mortgage Underwriter specializing in Third Party Residential Underwriting across Western Canada. Utilize your underwriting expertise to support and enhance the mortgage application process.

As a full-time Mortgage Underwriter, you will report to the Manager of Third Party Residential Underwriting.

Your role involves reviewing documentation, ensuring sound risk assessments, and building strong relationships with mortgage brokers and partners. You'll also manage high volumes of applications while staying updated on market trends and competition.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish positive relationships with mortgage brokers

• Adjudicate mortgage applications within authority limits

• Interact with Mortgage Insurers for lending decisions

• Prepare mortgage commitments with appropriate conditions

• Stay current with industry knowledge and market trends

Requirements:

• Post-secondary education or equivalent experience

• Minimum 2 years of mortgage underwriting experience

• Completion of Mortgage Agent Course is a plus

• Proficiency in PC software and Microsoft Office

• Strong analytical and decision-making skills
