Consultant, Valuation
– Job Summary The Consultant, Valuation works independently on valuations for a variety of complex assignments, applying solid knowledge of appraisal principles across multiple asset types.
Key Responsibilities Engage with clients to obtain and understand request and information needs.
Prepare complex valuation reports, conducting independent research and collaborating with peers for thorough peer reviews.
Contribute to the software databases to maintain high-quality inputs and ensure report integrity.
Engage industry experts and communicate valuation questions to clients after report completion.
Provide a positive team member experience and excellent client service.
Meet monthly budget targets and demonstrate strong work ethic.
Qualifications & Requirements Post‑secondary degree required; preference for business or real estate background.
Minimum two years’ experience in valuation.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage ambiguities, meet deadlines, and work independently or in a team.
Leadership experience and desire to advance within the real‑estate industry.
Valid driver’s license.
Skills & Knowledge Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet research.
Experience with appraisal programs such as Argus is an asset.
Knowledge of property tax and appeal process is an asset.
Supervisory Responsibilities Limited supervisory duties – mentoring an analyst on basic appraisal practice.
Work Environment & Travel Standard indoor setting with occasional long periods of sitting or standing. 50–100% independent travel required.
Compensation Base salary: $50,000 – $66,000 (Vancouver, BC). Incentive compensation may be available.
