Advance your finance career as a full-time Mortgage Underwriter with First National in Western Canada. This role focuses on residential underwriting with an emphasis on thorough document assessment and relationship management.
Reporting to the Manager of Third Party Residential Underwriting, the Associate Mortgage Underwriter will support the underwriting process by managing necessary documentation and ensuring compliance with internal standards. This position involves regular interactions with brokers and external partners to ensure accurate information is compiled for every mortgage application, playing a vital role in risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build relationships with mortgage brokers and partners
• Collect and verify documentation for mortgage commitments
• Review documents to identify potential inaccuracies
• Note issues and escalate them to the Underwriter
• Maintain thorough records in the underwriting system
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience
• Experience in Financial Services sector preferred
• Knowledge of mortgage documentation and processes beneficial
• Strong computer skills required
• Ability to handle high-volume tasks under pressure
