International Financing Guarantee Underwriter

Join the International Financing Guarantees team at Export Development Canada in a hybrid role as an Underwriter. This position requires strong underwriting skills and knowledge of financial markets to assess transaction risks effectively.

As an Underwriter within EDC’s Small Business & Partnerships group, you will play a crucial role in financing solutions for Canadian exporters. This permanent position offers multiple levels from Associate to Senior Financing Manager, requiring various years of experience. Key responsibilities include risk assessment, customer support, and document management in close collaboration with legal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and manage key transaction risks

• Provide ongoing customer service and transactional support

• Draft and review documents for financial products

• Prepare and present credit material for transactions

• Coach junior team members in underwriting processes

Requirements:

• Undergraduate degree in Finance or related field

• Experience in commercial lending or loan management

• Minimum 1-year relevant experience at Associate level

• Strong analytical and negotiation skills

• Bilingual in French and English is a plus
