Financial Analyst

Our client is a large Manufacturing Company located in the Lower Mainland. An excellent position exists for a motivated CPA to report directly to the Controller and function as a Financial Analyst. The overall objective of this position is to provide Senior Management with accurate and timely analysis to assist in their decision making process, improve and maintain management reports, assist with the budget and forecast process and provide subsequent variance analysis.

The specific responsibilities include assisting the Controller with budget and forecast processes and preparing the subsequent monthly reporting to include variance analysis, identification of ongoing operating cost issues and working with the sales analyst with respect to sales revenue and deduction issues. You will prepare weekly activity reports for cash, AR and AP activity, trade spend sales etc. for Senior Management’s review.

You will prepare new product and existing product analysis with input from the Operations Accountant. You will perform analysis of proposed capital projects and prepare analysis of expenses as required. You will work with the Controller and the Assistant Controller in identifying and creating useful management reports/analysis. You will work with the Controller and the Assistant Controller in assisting other department’s with their requests for financial data.

There may also be special projects that you will get involved in.

The successful candidate should have an excellent command of Excel and previous experience performing most of the above duties.
