What is the opportunity?

The RBC Dominion Securities branch located in Vancouver Royal Centre is looking for an analytical, technical and resourceful team player to join a leading discretionary team as a junior Investment Associate who will provide exceptional client service and dedicated support to the portfolio management team on investment and money management activities.

By providing ongoing, exceptional service and support to our clients and our Advisor team, you will help our team deepen existing relationships. As an invaluable internal and external point of contact, you will play a key role in working with a Portfolio Manager in managing client portfolios, analysis and administrative support.

What will you do?

  • Execute trades and help rebalance portfolios.
  • Follow up on client trades to ensure proper settlement and delivery.
  • Coordinate and prepare meetings for Advisors with their clients/prospects.
  • Provide proactive client service with a focus on problem resolution and attention to details. Liaise with various departments for execution, where necessary.
  • Respond to client inquiries (account transactions, requests for tax receipts, account reporting, etc.).
  • Assist the Advisor team with client onboarding.
  • Maintain existing client accounts and identify opportunities to contact clients: manage timelines and key dates for accounts.
  • Ensure accurate and timely updates of all necessary documentation in compliance with internal controls and industry regulatory requirements. Maintain complete and up-to-date client files within appropriate systems.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam (CIRE).
  • Meticulous attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Post-secondary degree in finance or a related area of study.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional work experience within the investment industry.

Nice-

  • Knowledge of RBC Dominion Securities’ systems and procedures, an asset.

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable incentive payments) will be determined by factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals; market conditions; and business needs.

The expected base salary range for this position is $40,000 - $50,000.

This position may be eligible to receive a discretionary/variable incentive payment up to 1.0x base salary
