Job Description
As a member of the Estate and Financial Planning Services (EFPS) support team, this role is responsible for growing financial planning capabilities across Sun Life Financial Distributors (SLFD). The position reports to the Regional Director of EFPS and focuses on preparing and delivering holistic financial plans to mass affluent and high-net-worth individuals.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and design financial plans to address client goals and needs, incorporating risk management, retirement planning, tax planning, and estate planning strategies.
- Organize and deliver regional training for Sun Life Advisors on various financial planning topics via virtual and on-site sessions.
- Collaborate with Advanced Case Managers (ACM) and Insurance Sales Distributors (ISD) to provide comprehensive insurance solutions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial planning, wealth management, tax, and estate planning best practices.
- Cultivate and manage relationships with field leaders, Sun Life Advisors, and senior leaders.
- Act as a proactive and trusted partner to drive business growth for Sun Life Advisors through holistic planning.
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification – mandatory.
- Professional designations such as TEP, CLU or CPA – an asset.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial planning or a related field.
- Comprehensive understanding of financial planning principles and practices.
- Proficient in Sun Life Financial Distributors’ planning tools, specifically Conquest software.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated facilitation and presentation abilities.
- Strong relationship‑building and professional networking skills.
- Self‑direction, independent work ethic, and analytical problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to explain complex financial concepts in simple terms.
- Time management and organizational skills for handling multiple clients.
- Familiarity with digital tools for virtual client meetings and remote collaboration (e.g., MS Teams, Zoom).
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment with other financial professionals.
- Mandarin proficiency (written and spoken) – an asset.
- Competitive base salary ranging from $80,000 to $128,000, varying by location.
