Capital West Mortgage Inc. ("Capital West") is a Vancouver-based firm known for its progressive, innovative approach to real estate financing across the Lower Mainland, operating through four divisions:
Lending, Exempt Market Dealer, Commercial, and Properties.

Capital West's Lending division manages Pacifica Mortgage Investment Corporation ("Pacifica"), a mortgage investment corporation that lends to borrowers across Western Canada who don't fit conventional bank criteria, sourced through a network of mortgage broker partners. This mortgage administrator role is part of the Pacifica team.

Reports to: Senior Vice President of Alternative Lending & MIC Operations

Description

This is a full-time in-office position in which you will work closely with the Senior Vice President of Alternative Lending & MIC Operations to ensure the smooth flow of administrative tasks related to mortgages and compliance. The role is primarily responsible for processing mortgage renewals, verifying documentation for accuracy, and preparing compliance documents. The position will have synergies with origination, accounting, compliance, and Investor Services divisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Update the mortgage system as needed with information pertaining to the Borrower or property.
  • Prepare renewal paperwork in accordance with the company’s renewal policies
  • Production and delivery of various types of mortgage statements
  • Issue payout letters and facilitate mortgage discharges
  • Review legal documents such as final reports, Form C’s, PPSA, and statement of adjustments.
  • Follow up with Borrowers who have missed payments and, when applicable, negotiate payment arrangements to bring accounts current
  • Refer files for commencement of legal action when needed
  • Maintain detailed and accurate notes of all correspondence for matters relating to each mortgage
  • Work with the compliance team to ensure all files comply with the company's AML Policies and Procedures.
  • Understand and follow internal policies, guidelines, and procedures
  • Review documentation for accuracy and ensure all data input into the system is correct.
  • Identify best practices and opportunities to improve internal processes and procedures.
  • Assist the Senior Vice-President of Alternative Lending & MIC Operations with other various tasks when needed
Education / Experience / Skills
  • BC Mortgage Brokers License or willing to complete the Mortgage Brokers License as soon as possible
  • Mortgage industry experience
  • Excellent attention to detail is a must
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Office, Outlook, and PowerPoint, and the ability to learn new software systems
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
