About the Role

Creative BC is looking for an Analyst, Funding Programs to join our team for a 12-month term.

The Analyst helps deliver Creative BC’s grant and funding programs from beginning to end - from developing program guidelines and assessing applications to supporting funding decisions, reporting on results, and identifying ways to improve how programs are delivered.

This role combines program management, analysis, judgment, and relationship-building. You will work with applicants, funding recipients, advisory panel members, and colleagues across Creative BC, while helping ensure funding programs are delivered fairly, consistently, and in line with their intended purpose.

Program assignments may change over time based on funding cycles, workload, and organizational priorities, so this role is well suited to someone who can learn quickly, manage competing priorities, and comfortably work across different programs.

: 9:00am to 5:00pm (PDT) - includes a 1-hour unpaid lunch break

Work Model: Hybrid, two (2) days in-office each week (upon completion of in-person training period)

The Work

Deliver funding programs from start to finish, including application intake, assessment, adjudication, funding decisions, evaluation, and reporting.

Develop and apply program guidelines and assessment tools, including eligibility criteria, scoring approaches, timelines, and other program requirements.

Assess applications and make recommendations, applying program criteria and professional judgment to make fair, consistent, and well-supported decisions.

Lead and support adjudication processes, including preparing panel materials, briefing panel members, facilitating discussions, and documenting decisions and rationale.

Interpret program policies and funding objectives and turn them into clear, practical guidance for applicants, recipients, panel members, and colleagues.

Track and analyze program information, identifying trends, outcomes, risks, and other insights that support reporting and decision-making.

Maintain accurate and complete program records, ensuring decisions, documentation, and reporting can be clearly understood and supported.

Work closely with Funding Program Coordinators to keep program administration, information, data, and timelines on track.

Build constructive relationships with applicants, funding recipients, and partners, providing clear and consistent information and helping resolve questions or issues.

Look for ways to make programs better, using program results, feedback, and experience to recommend improvements to processes, assessment approaches, and applicant experience.

Support different programs as priorities shift, building knowledge across Creative BC’s funding portfolio and helping maintain continuity during busy periods or changes in program assignments.

  • Have experience reviewing and assessing applications, participating in or leading adjudication or evaluation processes, and making well-supported recommendations.

  • Are comfortable making judgment calls when circumstances are complex or the answer is not immediately obvious.
