The position is responsible for conducting examinationsto assess mortgage broker compliance with regulatory requirements.
This posting may be utilized to fill multiple vacancies.
ACCOUNTABILITIESConducts research, gathers and analyses information from a variety of internal and external sources.
Identifies risks, themes and/or systemic issues and contributes to the development of mortgage broker segment risk assessment.
Makes recommendationsregardingthe subject,approach and scope of examinations.
Carries out desk-based and/or on-site examinations by conducting interviews,gathering and evaluating documentary evidence in accordance withexamination plan, testingproceduresand legislative requirements.
Reviewsvarious financial documents, including bank statements, Accountant’s Reports and Financial Statements.
Preparescomprehensivereportsthat include evidence of findings,results and recommendations.
Encourages voluntary compliance during the course of examinations,identifies opportunities to educate industry participants and reinforce good business practices that align with regulatory expectations.
Supports the formal regulatory intervention or enforcement action and testifies at regulatory, tribunal, and other hearings, as required.
Participates and contributes to strategic initiatives, specialprojectsand working groups.
