Finance & Banking Associate, Financial Analyst
Role Overview
We are looking for an Associate to help the portfolio management team develop, execute and improve all aspects of the investment management process. The successful candidate will work independently or in a team to deliver high‑quality service to clients.
Responsibilities- Work closely with portfolio managers and administrators to implement portfolio trading strategies across thousands of individual accounts.
- Develop a deep understanding of the portfolio management and custodial software to identify areas for potential improvement and efficiency gains.
- Execute day‑to‑day trading strategy, including building, reviewing and submitting trade blotters.
- Support portfolio managers with research‑related activities on an as‑needed basis.
- Create and maintain positive relationships within and outside the team.
- Respond to client requests for additional information.
- Help produce and maintain firm marketing material.
- Carry out ad‑hoc projects to grow the business or enhance client service, such as updating website content, researching software tools, or maintaining internal KYP and KYC documentation.
- Very strong problem‑solving skills.
- Demonstrable interest in capital markets, investing and personal finance.
- Completion of an undergraduate Bachelor’s degree.
- Completion of Level1 of the CFA program.
- Expert level Microsoft Office skills.
- Two years’ work experience in an office environment.
- Completion of CFA, MBA or other professional designation (e.g., CPA, P.Eng.) is an asset.
- Experience in IT systems implementation and/or design is an asset.
- Work and educational experience need not be limited to Finance or Business; backgrounds in Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics are considered an asset.
Primarily in‑office with limited hybrid opportunities. Not necessarily client‑facing. Significant scope to increase responsibilities over time depending on the candidate.
CompensationAnnual base salary of $95,000 to $115,000 plus bonus. Actual compensation will be determined based on candidate experience, qualifications, market conditions and internal equity.
