Overview

The Hyatt Regency Vancouver is seeking a dedicated, customer service oriented professional to join the Front Office team as a Part-Time Front Office Host. Front Office Hosts are responsible for the guest registration process and communication of hotel services and promotions. This highly visible role offers opportunities for casual conversation and has a direct impact on creating the guest experience. You may also handle payment processing and respond to guest inquiries.

You’ll be the face of Hyatt as a Front Office Host.

Responsibilities
  • Process guest registrations and communicate hotel services and promotions.
  • Handle forms of payment and respond to guest inquiries.
  • Support a welcoming, professional guest experience as the face of Hyatt.
  • Other duties as assigned in support of Front Office operations.
Qualifications
  • Must have a true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be available to work various shifts, especially Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and holidays (including graveyard shifts) as required by business needs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Refined and professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and be detail oriented.
  • Previous experience with Opera property management system is an asset.
  • Previous Front Desk hotel experience is preferred.
  • Cash handling experience.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Proven ability to make quick and efficient decisions.
  • Ability to interact with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Ability to upsell – previous experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of a second language is an asset.

Visa Requirements:
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
