POSITION SUMMARY
:
The Post-Event Housekeeping Crew Leaders are responsible for supervising part-time housekeeping staff and ensuring all housekeeping work is completed efficiently and effectively. This is a part-time, hourly, events-based position. Shifts are primarily graveyard shifts from 11:00pm to 7:00am.
A typical shift includes:
Directing, leading, and working with post event housekeeping staff, ensuring work is performed in the safest and most efficient manner possible, and within time deadlinesCoordinating work duties and materials for post-event housekeeping staffAssisting with on-the-job training as requiredMaintaining and operating housekeeping equipmentMaintaining housekeeping supply room; conducting weekly supply inventory auditConducting regular safety and quality assurance inspectionsProviding written reports/status updates at the end of shiftsOther duties as requiredREQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Available to work graveyard shifts on weekdays, weekends, and holidays as requiredPrevious experience in a housekeeping roleGeneral knowledge of cleaning chemicals and practice and of emergency cleaning proceduresAble to work with various cleaning solutions with the appropriate personal protective equipmentPhysically able to walk up and down stairs, stand for a significant portion of the shift, repetitively bend, twist, reach and lift (up to 35 Ibs.), and use a radioStrong communication skills, with the confidence and ability to address a group of staff at briefingsAble to present information and instructions in a clear mannerExcellent problem solving and crisis management skillsConfident, friendly, approachable, outgoing, team player; able to gain the confidence and trust of management, colleagues, direct reportsPresence in the form of personal authority and maturity; ability to work independentlyHousekeeping/Cleaning Certifications; WHMIS TrainingTraining or experience in dealing with persons with disabilities is an assetFluent in a second or third language in addition to English is an assetNon-Canadian residents must hold a valid work permit with a minimum of 8 months of validity remainingA strong understanding of and commitment to uphold our company values of discipline, respect, excellent, attitude, and mindset (DREAM)Vancouver is one of the most diverse cities in the world and Canucks Sports & Entertainment strives to create a workforce that is inclusive, equitable, and represents our beautiful, unique community.
