The Opportunity
Viaggio is looking for a knowledgeable, and ambitious Event Sales Coordinator to round out our Viaggio team. The ideal candidate will have a sincere passion for hospitality!
What You’ll Do
/ Job objective
Assist in the development, growth and maintenance of Bookings/ Sales/ Event strategies to meet various venues objectives. Promote, book and grow events/ ticket sales/ group bookings across a number of hospitality venues.
Event and Group Management
- Ability to work under pressure, be adaptable/ flexible
- Actively generate leads to increase group bookings/event bookings/ticket sales
- Show companies and interested parties around the premises in absence of management
- Follow up with clients regularly during and after departure to ensure satisfaction and secure future bookings
- Calendar and deadline management, to be aware of upcoming hallmark events
- Send reminders to all parties involved
- Ensure bookings are ran smoothly offsite through strong communication with each venue manager
- Stay in constant communication with stakeholders to maintain up-to-date resources e.g., menus, wine lists and floor plans but not limited to
Business Development
- Research the hospitality industry within Vancouver and stay apprised of current marketing trends
- Research new opportunities for strategic partnerships and assist in actively building new relationships through means of business development
- You will assist in building relationships with clients in the hospitality industry, along with scheduling meetings and attending industry events
Meetings, Admin, Onsite Presence
- Work on-site at four different venues
- Attend and contribute at meetings
What You Have
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills, outgoing personality, and superior attitude
- Passion for restaurant and hospitality industry
- 1-year experience in sales/ event management is an asset
- Relevant sales, business diploma/ certificate is an asset but nonessential
- Must be proficient in written English and Microsoft packages
- Knowledge of booking management software systems is considered an asset
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with self-motivation with excellent communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and work within a fast-paced environment
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada to be considered
