The Opportunity
Viti Wine and Lager liquor store, part of a collection of Greater Vancouver liquor stores that are one of the best destinations for specialty wines, hand-crafted local and imported beer, and sought-after scotch in the Lower Mainland. Viti Wine & Lager (Downtown Vancouver) is looking for a Store Manager
. The ideal person will have a sincere passion for hospitality and upscale service, with experience in a Managerial position and a deep knowledge of wine, beer and spirits.
What You’ll Do
- Manage day to day operations of both stores including hiring, reviewing and employee scheduling
- Plan and assist in annual budgets; excel at Cost Accounting, Developing Budgets, Financial Planning and Strategy
- Keep all staff informed of store products, liquor laws, and train staff in proper customer relation skills
- Establish and administer retail objectives:
Decision Making, Process Improvement, Strategic Planning for both locations - Develop a customer service objective with superior Verbal Communication, Customer Focus, Management Proficiency, Managing Profitability
- Quality Focus for both locations, conduct inventory, evaluate personnel, supervise receiving and storage of products
What You Have
- 3+ years of relevant retail management experience
- Education in wine and/or beer and spirits
- Strong customer service skills
- Proven ability to grow business, increase sales and drive traffic and improve guest experience at the same time
- Be physically able to lift from 20 to 50 lbs boxes and move stock
- Experience in staff management
- Superb organization and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Computer and POS experience
- Inventory control procedures and counts
- Serving it right certificate is a mandatory
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada to be considered
