Human Resources Manager | Downtown Vancouver (Hybrid)

Mac Donald Search Group is partnering with a highly successful, established leader in its niche financial services sector to find a hands on Human Resources Manager. This role leads end-to-end people operations across Canada and the US, driving a high-performance culture aligned with B Corp standards and long-term business impact.

The Role

As the North American HR lead, you will partner with senior leadership to build organizational capability and ensure a seamless employee experience. You will oversee the entire employee lifecycle while integrating global strategy into commercially grounded, regional solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Advisory:
    Act as a trusted partner to leaders on performance, culture, change management, and risk.
  • Talent & Performance:
    Lead workforce planning, recruitment, succession, and recognition programs to attract and retain top-tier talent.
  • Culture & Engagement:
    Champion a values-led employee experience focusing on DEI, wellbeing, and B Corp social responsibility standards.
  • Compliance & ER:
    Manage employee relations and ensure strict adherence to Canadian and US employment legislation.
  • Total Rewards & Governance:
    Oversee competitive compensation and benefits frameworks and regional people governance.
  • Operations & Insights:
    Use HRIS data to drive informed decision-making and continuous process improvement.
  • Team Leadership:
    Lead and develop the regional People team while collaborating with global counterparts.
  • Qualifications
  • Experience:

    5+ years of senior HR generalist experience;
    Canadian expertise is essential, US exposure is highly preferred.
  • Leadership:
    Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead high-performing teams in a global/matrixed environment.
  • Knowledge:
    Deep understanding of North American employment law, talent acquisition, and reward systems.
  • Mindset:
    Data-informed, analytically minded, and business-savvy.
  • Impact:
    Familiarity with B Corp, DEI, or ethical employment practices is a significant asset.
  • Credentials: CPHR (or equivalent) is desirable; flexibility for North American travel and global collaboration is required.
