Position Summary   The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a strategic consultant to management, translating business objectives into actionable HR strategies. You will provide expert guidance on talent management, employee relations, coaching, compensation, and organizational development. This role is a blend of high-level strategy and hands-on execution, ensuring our teams across our Nevada, California, and Texas markets are supported, compliant, and empowered to grow.
What You’ll Do (Job

Duties & Responsibilities )    Strategic Partnership:  Collaborate with leadership to develop department goals, objectives, and systems that align with Westland’s growth.
Empathetic Leadership Advisory:  Serve as a trusted advisor to our management teams, providing thoughtful guidance and best-practice solutions for navigating sensitive people situations and professional development.
Professional Growth & Talent Development:  Identify training needs and career development opportunities; partner with leaders to build career pathways and foster a culture of continuous learning and internal advancement.
Systems Management:  Maintain and optimize our HRIS and ATS (Paycor) and other departmental operating systems.
Multi-State Compliance & Safety:  Maintain expert knowledge and oversight of employment law and compliance for our portfolio in Nevada, California, and Texas; manage labor law postings, Workers’ Comp, and OSHA safety standards across all regions.
Employee Engagement & Satisfaction:  Champion initiatives that drive employee morale and retention; manage key communications, feedback loops, and benefits education to ensure an exceptional employee experience.
Culture & Community Partnership:  Act as a brand ambassador by building strategic community partnerships and attending industry events to promote Westland’s unique culture and attract talent that aligns with our core values.

What You’ll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)

Experience:

2–4 years of demonstrated success in developing progressive HR strategies and driving talent development initiatives, preferably within Property Management.
Strategic Mindset:  A proven track record of influencing stakeholders and facilitating HR initiatives across multiple markets.
Knowledge Base:  In-depth understanding of HR principles and deep familiarity with the employment laws, regulations, and best practices specific to California, Nevada, and Texas.
Communication:  Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong coaching, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Technical Proficiency:  Skilled in Google Suite and HRIS/ATS platforms (Paycor experience is a plus).
Language:  Bilingual in  Spanish  is highly preferred.
Mobility:  Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for onsite visits to our various properties and communities.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
Ability to maintain complex, confidential records and organize data effectively.
A "customer service" approach to HR, with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Proactive initiative and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
